Ladies and Gents, music duo Anderson.Paak and Bruno Mars also known as Silk Sonic have returned with their summertime jam ‘Skate‘ – It is hard to believe that it has only been four months since Silk Sonic released their debut single Leave The Door Open, in March 2021. To fans who have been waiting for the duo to release the An Evening with Silk Sonic album it has probably seemed like a lifetime.

It is rare that a single is released and has a lifespan of nearly half a year in today’s music climate. However, Silk Sonic was able to change the tide with Leave The Door Open, which was instantly met with critical acclaim and commercial success landing at the top of the Billboard charts

With little to no album details, fans who were waiting for something new from the duo were met with a surprise this week when the new single Skate was released. A track that is layered in drums, bongos and strings – Skate is very reminiscent of the disco musical stylings of the 70s.

Silk Sonic have achieved great success for a group that has technical not even been out for six months. With a chart-topping debut single and winning Best R&B group at this year’s BET Awards, many were wondering would Silk Sonic be able to do it again – and by the looks of it the answer that question is an astounding yes. The song has risen to #1 on the iTunes Charts and as garnered nearly 8 million music video views in just 24 hours.

Bruno and Anderson have delivered a song perfectly suited to close out Summer 2021 – and are definitely continuing to build the anticipation for the debut album – which many are hoping arrives soon
